The Witcher Season 3 : Henry Cavill mesmerizes audiences in his final portrayal of Geralt

The Witcher Season 3 : In the third episode of The Witcher, which recently debuted on Netflix, Henry Cavill makes his triumphant comeback as Geralt of Rivia. Continuing the adventures of the brooding monster hunter and sometime-companions Ciri of Cintra (Freya Allan), Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), and Jaskier (Joey Batey), the new run of episodes (which draw from Andrzej Sapkowski’s second “The Witcher” book, “Time of Contempt”) will find Geralt doing anything he can to protect his found family – and Ciri’s growing powers – against an onslaught of dark forces.

Joining Cavill, Allan, Chalotra, and Batey in the new season are MyAnna Buring as Tissaia; Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz of Roggeveen; Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold; Royce Pierreson as Istredd; Lars Mikkelsen as Stregobor; Eamon Farren as Cahir; Mimî M. Khayisa as Fringilla Vigo; Mecia Simson as Francesca Findabair; Cassie Clare as Philippa Eilhart; Graham McTavish as Sigismund Dijkstra; Robbie Amell as Gallatin; Meng’er Zhang as Milva; and Hugh Skinner as Prince Radovid.

The Witcher Season 3 : WHAT DIFFERS FROM PREVIOUS SEASONS?

By far the best season so far is this one. The Witcher’s most political adventure to date, substituting exposition-heavy conversations, covert plotting, and backroom bargaining between a wide range of elves, mages, and human rulers, all of which have their own objectives and agendas, for bloody monster fights. by Lacy Baugher for Paste Magazine

How much The Witcher diverged from the Blood of Elves storyline was one of the main criticisms of the game (at least in Season 2). Although the third season at least makes an effort to largely adhere to Time of Contempt, the show’s prior deviations from the original truly hurt it as it delves deeper and deeper into global events. — Christian Hoffer, ComicBook

The Witcher Season 3 : HOW ARE YOU, HENRY CAVILL?

Actually, Cavill must carry the entire affair, which he does well. The actor completely sells it: you care about Geralt, and the show suffers without him. Without him, this series will be worse. The London Evening Standard’s Vicky Jessup

As far as farewells go, Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt in Season 3 of The Witcher is surprisingly exceptional. Collider’s Carly Lane

The Witcher Season 3 : WHO ELSE IS LEFT OUT OF THE CAST?

Henry Cavill, Anya Chalortra, and Freya Allan’s chemistry is beautifully displayed in this film. Jarrod Jones from IGN Movies

While Anya Chalotra is understated as the now-humiliated Yennefer and Freya Allan occasionally comes off as too one-note in her portrayal of Ciri’s defiance, Joey Batey does a good job of giving the joyful and witty Jaskier a feeling of resigned misery. —Christian Hoffer, ComicBook
